CERT organizes regular meetings with relevant senior officials from the Canadian government, Canadian Provincial governments, European Institutions and European Union Member States to for discussion on economic policy matters. This includes organizing regular trade missions to Canada and Europe.

CERT also collaborates with prominent industry groups on economic research projects and trade and investment promotion initiatives.

The annual Energy Roundtable was created by CERT in 2004 to facilitate investment in Canadian and North Sea energy markets. A key concern of the Energy Roundtable is the future role of Canadian energy resources and the geopolitical and economic implications of foreign investors shifting increasingly to the Canadian market. The event provides exposure for companies active in Canada and the North Sea, and highlight important developments in these markets to an international audience.The conference capitalises on the link between Calgary and London, as energy producing and finance centres with a strong history of economic cooperation.
